How participation works
OVERVIEW
Conveloq is a platform where you participate in cognitive science research and get rewarded.
Currently only in-person (on-site) studies are running; online studies will be added later.
Step 1
Sign up & complete your profile
Enter basic information such as your name and date of birth. Your profile must be complete before you can apply.

Find & apply
Find a study that matches your criteria in the listing and apply. Studies with screening ask additional questions.

Wait for researcher approval
The researcher reviews applicants. You'll be notified of the result by message.

Visit & participate
Visit the lab according to the location and schedule provided, and take part in the experiment.

Request completion
After the experiment, press the "completed" button on the platform. The researcher then confirms it.

Receive your reward
Once the researcher confirms completion, the reward is paid. Payment methods may vary by study.

Create an account
Click "Log in / Sign up" in the top menu and register with your email.

Complete your profile
Enter your name, date of birth, gender, and other basics on the "My profile" page. Applying is restricted until you do.

Register a bank account (optional)
Registering the account where you'll receive rewards makes settlement easier later. Set it up under "My profile → Bank account".
Finding studies

You can see all currently recruiting studies in the study listing.
Each study card shows the reward, time required, location, and eligibility criteria — check them carefully.

Check eligibility
Studies with criteria such as age, gender, or education require you to meet them. They're compared automatically against your profile.

Answer screening questions
Some studies ask additional questions (screening) before applying. Please answer honestly — false answers incur penalties.

Apply
After applying, track your status in "My participations". You'll be notified of the result by message.
Participating in person
IN-PERSON
Conveloq currently runs in-person (on-site) studies only. After approval, visit the lab to participate.

Check your approval
When the approval message arrives, check the location, schedule, and contact info on the study detail page.

Visit the lab
Visit on the date and location provided. If you need to reschedule, use the "message the researcher" feature.

Press the completion button
After the experiment, press the "completed" button on the platform. The researcher can only process completion after you do.

Researcher confirms
Once the researcher confirms your participation and marks it complete, the reward is paid.

Study rewards may qualify as other income. Taxes may be withheld depending on the income type and your residency status; details are provided at payout.

The behaviors below can lead to account restrictions. Please participate in good faith.

No-shows / excessive cancellations
Not showing up after approval or cancelling repeatedly can restrict your ability to apply. After cancelling, you cannot re-apply for 15 hours.

False screening answers
Applying with false answers that don't meet the criteria incurs a penalty, and no reward is paid.

Careless participation
If a researcher reviews the data and judges the participation careless, the reward can be declined. Rejections affect your future applications.
Frequently asked questions
FAQ
QDo I have to fill in my whole profile?
Name and date of birth are required. Eligibility criteria differ by study, so an incomplete profile prevents eligibility checks and limits your applications.
QHow long does approval take?
It varies by researcher. Usually within a few hours, but it can take days. Check your inbox for the result.
QWhat if I need to reschedule?
Contact the researcher via the "message the researcher" feature on the study detail page. If rescheduling doesn't work, you can withdraw and re-apply, but there's a 15-hour wait after withdrawing.
QI forgot to press the "completed" button.
You can message the researcher and ask them to mark it complete directly. Researchers can also process completion from their management page.
QCan I participate in the same study more than once?
Generally, you can only participate in a study once. Longitudinal studies (multiple sessions) are the exception — you participate in each session.
QIs my personal data safe?
Conveloq complies with the Personal Information Protection Act. Collected data is used only for study matching, and researchers see only the minimum needed for research participation. See the
privacy policy for details.
QI'm on a D-2 visa (exchange student) — will participating cause problems at immigration?
No. Compensation for study participation is classified as "other income" (기타소득), not wages from employment, so it is unrelated to the activity-outside-status-of-stay (work) restrictions that apply to international/exchange students.
